(1)- POP SONGS – You can come up with a nice tune, but as a songwriter you’re also faced with the thorny proposition of what to actually write about. You can take the Oasis route of just stringing together some vaguely euphoric words.
(2)- NEWS?? --It's called the news about the news (TVNEWSER)
(3)- GERMAN DANGER -- The controversial salt-mine nuclear waste storage facility in Asse, Lower Saxony is not only crumbling, but also apparently contains unknown amounts of explosives, it has emerged.
(4)- POOR CHOICE -- The manager of Florida's Weeki Wachee Springs State Park has been fired following allegations that he sexually harassed a mermaid.
(5)- MOTHER'S SHOULD CARE -- A mother is being charged with neglecting her obese teenage son, raising issues about whether the government has the right to intervene in one's family life.
(6)- NATURAL CAUSES -- Scientists think they have resolved one of the most controversial environmental issues of the past decade: the curious case of the missing frogs' legs – PREDATORS.
(7)- PRISON WOES -- Inmates carrying sawed-off shotguns once patrolled the grounds of Arkansas state prisons, keeping other prisoners in line with fear and intimidation. Some stuff is different.
(8)- WORK THINK -- Crawford argues for a fresh view of skilled labor, especially that of the traditional trades. Go ahead, he's saying: Get your hands dirty. Own your work. His book mixes descriptions of the pleasures and challenges.
(9)- RETHINKING -- Paul Rahe is a distinguished and prolific historian in the field of intellectual history who ventures with deliberate intent into political philosophy, judging what he sees.
