(5)- OOOOOPS! -- Officials at a California zoo said an eland, the largest species of antelope, gave birth to a daughter after testing pregnancy negative in a test focusing on progesterone levels.

(6)- TESTING SPERM -- Yale School of Medicine researchers discover a method to select sperm with the highest DNA integrity in a bid to improve male fertility. The method is comparable to that of the egg’s natural selection abilities.

(7)- STAGE ACTORS’ REFUGE -- When NBC announced last week that it planned to cancel the original “Law & Order,” many people lamented the effect on New York theater actors, for whom a spot on the show has long been a résumé staple.

(8)- JAPANESE DIET -- Japanese researchers say those who follow a healthy Japanese diet exhibit symptoms of depression less than half as often as those who do not, the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports.

(9)- LAW SCHOOL -- Obama and Kagan from Harvard Law School, Sotomayor from Yale Law School… all avoided major ideological fights and the most polarizing legal issues. They helped move their law schools beyond the ideological battles.
