(1)- CLASSICAL MUSIC -- The idea that the classical recording industry is on the rocks, a suggestion raised because of low sales figures, is generally countered by the assertion that there are more classical recordings available than ever before.

(2)- NEW SPACE VIEW -- The International Space Station is about to get what NASA is calling "a room with a view" — an observation dome that will give astronauts a window on the world unlike any other ever flown in space.

(3)- CRAIG – In 1957, Craig Claiborne became the food editor at the Times. In that capacity, he’s generally credited with being the inventor of the modern restaurant review.

(4)- GAMBLING -- More than 65 percent of Americans gamble, according to Gallup's annual Lifestyle Poll conducted last year, and up to 5 percent of those betters develop an addiction to the activity.

(5)- COURT CASE -- "South Butt," sued by North Face for trademark infringement, has filed a delightfully nyah-nyah answer to the apparel maker's legal claims. North Face asserts that South Butt is sewing confusion and mistake among consumers.

(6)- TV NETWORKS – SPIKE & LIFETIME -- What do their programs tell us about the sexes? What deep-seated yearnings drive the male of the species? What hopes and fears motivate the female? Is one smarter than the other, and if so, by how much?

(7)- DIABETES NEWS -- Scientists have used an "artificial pancreas" system of pumps and monitors to improve blood sugar control in diabetes patients in the first study to show the new device works better than conventional treatment.

(8)- RENT A PRISON -- Supplementing one's income by renting out a spare room is hardly a novel concept, but the Netherlands took it a big step further Friday when, in an European first, it officially leased a prison to Belgium.

(9)- ROOTS -- President Barack Obama will bring his wife and children on a trip next month to Indonesia, where he spent part of his childhood, as the U.S. seeks closer ties with the nation that has the world’s largest Muslim population.
