(1)- CHURCH THEFT -- A priest says the safe stolen from a southern Indiana church held golden chalices that date to its founding nearly 170 years ago. A Catholic church parishioner said someone broken in and took the safe weighing 700 pounds.
(2)- OTHER THEFT -- Lylas Olson figured the average burglar would take her electronics and jewelry when they broke into her house. But they also lifted 50 handmade family-made quilts -- one more than 100 years old.
(3)- LET THEM EAT CAVIAR -- City Harvest, the group that distributes food unused by New York restaurants, received a 550-gram tin of Petrossian Paris malossol caviar, worth about $1,100, from an anonymous donor. The chefs plan to serve it up.
(4)- THE ENEMY – Al-Qaida's magazine, Sada al-Malahim, has published interviews with terrorist leaders, fighter biographies, tips on how to become a better al-Qaida foot soldier, and thought pieces on the role of women in jihad.
(5)- TRY IT, YOU'L LIKE IT -- For Brits and Germans already sick of winter, a pharmaceutical company has a cure in the form of a free trip to sunny Mexico. The catch: you have to help test their new diarrhea drug.
(6)- DISAGREEMENT -- A 21-year-old woman accused of strangling her husband was arrested Christmas Eve on charges of battery. Claudia Ann Williams and her husband argued over his sleeping in the same room as her, said a sheriff's report.
(7)- DON'T SWEAT IT -- The smell of men's sweat can tell women if they are attracted to them. A Rice University study showed that the smell of a man's sweat differs according to what mood he is in and women can pick up on changes.
