WEB BOHEMIAN (Thursday, August 9, 2012)
(1)- STILL THERE -- The most recent NASA moon photos show iconic American flags planted by astronauts on the moon (except Neil Armstrong’s first lunar flag) are still flying after four decades.

(2)- TAKEOVER – a Canadian woman’s house has been taken over by 180,000 honey bees and untold numbers of yellow jacket wasps. She didn’t know until honey began dripping from the ceiling.

(3)- EXPLANATIONS – A study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology analysed the way men and women looked at images of both genders in a bid to determine what mental processes were being applied.

(4)- OOOOOPS! --  The dons of Harvard University finally got to see Adam Wheeler sentenced to a year in prison. Wheeler, 25, had fabricated his academic record to be admitted to Harvard and been caught again.

(5)-VENETIAN RENAISSANCE’S GREATEST PAINTER -- His finest work is drawn from life, designed to satisfy the vanity and lust of magnificent dukes, corrupt popes and powerful emperors, giving pleasure, sharpening senses.

(6)- U.S. IN AFRICA – The U.S. military spreads its influence across that continent, establishing bases and outposts, sending in special operations forces and drones, funding proxy forces on the continent, and so more…

(7)- TAXIDERMY -- The Victorian pastime of stuffing animal carcasses returns. What's behind this morbid fascination? A mounted animal crosses boundaries: domestic vs. feral, human vs. animal, life vs. death.

(8)- FASTER THAN THE WIND -- It began when a software/hardware developer proposed a design for an unlikely-sounding, wind-powered car that he said would be able to travel faster than the wind blowing directly behind it.

(9)- SURPRISING HIGH PAYING WORK -- In fact, writers, elevator installers and art teachers are just a few of the professionals who surprisingly can score six-figure paychecks, according to  the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
