(1)- WINNING -- The NYTimes has taken a do-or-die stand for hard-core, boots-on-the-ground journalism, for earnest civic purpose, for the primacy of content creators over aggregators, and has brought itself back from the precipice. A report:

(2)- WORTH A HARD LOOK – Here is an extraordinary rotating video examination of the flight deack detail within the Space Shuttle Discovery. The shuttle was operational from its maiden flight in August of 1984, until its final landing on March 9, 2011.
