WEB BOHEMIAN (Tuesday, May 11, 2010)
(1)- CAR LOGOS -- Have you ever wondered why the Audi in front of you has a logo of four interlocked rings? Did you know the Cadillac emblem was inspired by a family crest of a nobleman who later turned out to be a fraud?

(2)- HIGHLY EDUCATED WOMEN -- As a growing number of young women obtain advanced degrees, the U.S. Census Bureau predicts more women than men are expected to become doctors, lawyers and professors.

(3)- CHANGE – It’s now a world in which many interactions formerly dependent on print on paper happen screen to screen. It’s no stretch, no exercise in futurism. You can pretty much extrapolate from the habits and behaviors of kids.

(4)- A NEW LOOK -- The 18th-century philosopher Adam Smith wasn’t the free-market fundamentalist he is thought to have been. It’s time we realised the relevance of his ideas to today’s financial crisis.

(5)- A CURIOUS FELLOW -- Norway builds a museum devoted to Knut Hamsun, not as a spiritual guide or patriot but as a writer of certain prudently selected books. He defended his German loyalties and resolute defiance of the War Crimes Court.

(6)- RATIONAL BEHAVIOR -- Humans are social animals, as were their ancestors, for millions of years before the first campfires. Only recently have humans understood the math of social interactions.

(7)- JOSEPH DUCREUX -- An 18th century French artist with an unorthodox portrait style. On the interweb, his self-portrait inspired exploitable macros series, featuring “archaic reinterpretation” of rap lyrics superimposed over the artwork.

(8)- MAJOR MYSTERY -- Detectives are not sure what Brian Alexik of New Jersey was up to and what role, the Federal Reserve played in his schemes. They're not sure whom they are dealing with because detectives found multiple identifications.

(9)- SIMPLICITY RULES -- Hunting is usually taboo in the simplicity movement because it involves guns. However, if you're hunting boar in the upscale hills ringing the San Francisco Bay then that’s an okay simple life.
