(5)- FERRETS USED IN BRITAIN -- With their long lean build ferrets have historically been sent down holes to chase rodents and rabbits out of their burrows. Now they are being used to to help lay broadband cables.

(6)- WHY? -- Why is U.S. Internet so much slower and pricier than broadband connections in South Korea? The U.S. government pushes forward with a "broadband plan" to speed up connections, reduce costs and increase access to the Internet.

(7)- TRACKING GEEZERS MED INTAKE -- Seeking a way to confirm that patients have taken their medication, University of Florida engineering researchers have added a tiny microchip and digestible antenna to a standard pill capsule.

(8)- THE ELUSIVE OLIVE SPECIES GENDER -- A hitherto unknown reproductive system in a species closely related to the olive tree, Phillyrea angustifolia L., has been discovered by researchers in France.

(9)- YEAH, RIGHT -- Patients who resisted dental procedures because of anxiety successfully underwent treatment after five minutes of acupuncture, a small study showed.
