(1)- STUDYING LEWIS CARROLL – A key to Carroll's elusive identity and his art was his recognition that all life involves role-playing. His literary fictions and his photographs capture the drama of 19th Century protean self-presentation.

(2)- CHOPIN -- Chopin was born of a French father and a Polish mother, and though he lived half his life in Paris, his soul was always with Poland. His passion for music showed itself early—even at age 3 he would cry whenever he heard it.

(3)- COMPUTER GAMES -- Tom Chatfield, editor and computer game fiend, says computer games aren’t just for teenage boys locked in their bedrooms – they are chewy fodder for the brain and tools for social and intellectual development…

(4)- NEW DIABETES THOUGHTS -- Rigorous treatment to bring down blood pressure and cholesterol is not beneficial and increases side effects, researchers say.

(5)- CELLPHONES -- Prisoners have mobile phones they are using to run gangs, call friends, and intimidate witnesses. Tech companies have the equipment to jam the phones by flooding the airwaves, and prisons want to use them. But guess what?

(6)- GAMBLER’S MUMIFIED HAND THEFT REPORT -- The mummified hand of a cheating gambler, which was said to be cursed, has been stolen from the country pub where it was on display.

(7)- UGG BOOTS -- Podiatrists and chiropadists believe the boots, which are particularly popular among young teenage girls, are leading to a rise in the number of people suffering pains in their feet and knees.

(8)- SUPREME COURT JUSTICE -- John Paul Stevens celebrates his 90th birthday April 20th and is 13 years older than his closest colleague in age (Ginsburg) and has served 11 years longer than the next most experienced (Scalia).

(9)- ANTI-DARWIN VIEWS -- In the philosophical community, there is an increasingly vocal cadre of eminent philosophers harboring doubts about Darwin. To understand their critique, we must first put the clock back a year.
